What do you want to achieve in your business?
We all have our own reasons for being in business - what are yours?
More importantly what do you want to achieve with your business?
Increased profitability
Are you working hard, but not seeing the financial rewards?
Growth
There is no point growing your business, if the headaches are only going to grow too. Why is growth important to you?
Increased independence
You enjoy your business, but you would like to know you could take a break from it, and it would still flourish.
Business excellence
There is enormous satisfaction in doing something well, even better to be known for it.
Revitalisation
Are things getting a bit stale? A bit ho hum?
Realisation of equity
After all the hard work and precious time you have put into your business you deserve to realise the value of your work.
Write it down!
Irrespective of what you want to achieve, it is essential to write down your specific goals, so it is easier to focus on what is important to you. This is essential, as with so many balls to juggle, it is easy to get distracted.
You have heard it before, but we will say it again, make sure your goals are SMART:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Timebound
And lastly, yes it is important to write your goals down. Research shows, people who have written goals are more likely to achieve them, than people who have unwritten goals.
Even in our digital age, the power of the pen is still mighty!
